Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until tender.

Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until well blended. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens.

Remove from heat and stir in 1 and 1/2 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese until melted.

Combine cooked pasta, ham, and frozen peas in a large bowl. Pour cheese sauce over the mixture and stir until well coated.

Transfer the mixture to a greased 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of Cheddar cheese on top.
