  • 195 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 30 grams cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 75 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 240 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
In an ungreased 8-inch (20 cm) square baking pan, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3
Make three depressions in the dry ingredients: two small and one large.
Step 4
Pour the vinegar in one small depression, the vanilla extract in the other small depression, and the vegetable oil in the large depression.
Step 5
Pour the water over all of the ingredients and mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7
Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
