A delightful and moist cake featuring caramelized peaches on top, perfect for a summer dessert or any special occasion.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a 23 cm (9-inch) cake pan, melt 55 g of butter over low heat. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter.
Step 3
Arrange the peach slices on top of the brown sugar mixture in a circular pattern.
Step 4
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5
In a separate large bowl, cream together the remaining 60 g of butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 6
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 7
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Step 8
Pour the batter over the peaches in the cake pan, spreading it evenly.
Step 9
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Step 10
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the cake, then invert it onto a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
