Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 240 ml chicken broth
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 200 g french fried onions
  • 900 g fresh green beans
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 ml milk
  • 200 g mushrooms
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
Step 3
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add the mushrooms and garlic, and cook for another 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
Step 5
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth.
Step 6
Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 7
Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the blanched green beans.
Step 8
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with french fried onions.
Step 9
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
