  • 30 g butter
  • 200 g cheddar cheese
  • 30 g flour
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually whisk in the milk to the butter and flour mixture. Cook until the sauce thickens.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

In a baking dish, layer the diced potatoes and cooked ground beef mixture.

Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the potatoes and beef.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.
