Ingredients

  • 120 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 450 g cheese curds
  • 30 g cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 240 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1000 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, mixing well.
Step 3
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 175°C (350°F).
Step 5
Dip the cheese curds into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
Step 6
Carefully place the battered cheese curds into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Step 7
Fry the cheese curds for about 1-2 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Step 8
Remove the cheese curds from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 9
Serve immediately and enjoy!
