Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks

Delicious, easy-to-make breadsticks brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a side for any meal or as a snack on their own.

Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g butter
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 5 g garlic powder
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese
  • 5 g salt
  • 10 g sugar
  • 300 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Step 2
Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
Step 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Step 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape.

Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 15 minutes.

Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.

While the breadsticks are baking, mix the melted butter and garlic powder.

Brush the hot breadsticks with the garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
