Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 400 g diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 250 g pasta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 ml tomato sauce

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Step 4
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
Step 5
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 6
In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, followed by half of the beef mixture, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers.
Step 7
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Step 8
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Step 9
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
