Step 1
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

In a medium saucepan, bring the water and cinnamon stick to a boil.

Add the rice to the boiling water. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.

Remove the cinnamon stick and add the whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool. The pudding will thicken further as it cools.

Serve warm or chilled, sprinkled with ground cinnamon.
