Ingredients

5 Servings
  • 1000 g apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 50 ml lemon juice
  • 700 g sugar
  • 250 ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot, combine the chopped apples and water. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 2
Mash the cooked apples with a potato masher or blend them until smooth.
Step 3
Add the sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring frequently, until the jam thickens.
Step 5
Test the jam's consistency by placing a small spoonful on a chilled plate. If it wrinkles when pushed with your finger, it's ready.
Step 6
Once thickened, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 7
Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving a small headspace. Seal the jars and let them cool completely before storing.
