Ingredients

  • 900 g beef flank steak
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 120 ml lime juice
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 500 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Place the beef flank steak in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Step 2
Remove the beef from the pot and let it cool. Shred the beef into thin strips.
Step 3
In a large bowl, mix the shredded beef with lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are translucent.
Step 5
Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook until the beef is crispy and browned, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 6
Serve the pan-fried beef hot with your choice of sides.
