  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cabbage
  • 4 carrots
  • 1.5 kg corned beef brisket
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp peppercorns
  • 6 potatoes
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 4 L water

Directions

Step 1
Place the corned beef brisket in a large pot and cover with water.
Step 2
Add the garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, and salt to the pot.
Step 3
Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 2 hours.
Step 4
Add the potatoes, carrots, and onion to the pot. Continue to simmer for another 20 minutes.

Finally, add the cabbage and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.

Remove the corned beef from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
