A delicious and hearty baked ziti dish, perfect for family dinners or gatherings. This recipe features a rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and lots of melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 450 grams mozzarella cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 425 grams ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 850 grams tomato sauce
  • 450 grams ziti pasta

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F).
Step 2
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain.
Step 3
In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 4
In a large bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
Step 5
Combine cooked pasta with ricotta mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella cheese.
Step 6
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until cheeses are melted.
