Ingredients

  • 1200 g granulated sugar
  • 1800 g grapes
  • 1 packet pectin
  • 480 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Wash and stem the grapes.
Step 2
Place grapes in a large pot and add water.
Step 3
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Strain the grape mixture through a jelly bag or cheesecloth to extract the juice.
Step 5
Measure 5 cups of grape juice and return it to the pot.
Step 6
Add pectin to the grape juice and bring to a full rolling boil.
Step 7
Add sugar all at once, stirring constantly, and bring back to a full rolling boil for 1 minute.
Step 8
Remove from heat and skim off any foam.
Step 9
Pour the jelly into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace.
Step 10
Seal jars with lids and process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
