A delightful pie featuring the tangy sweetness of apples and blackberries, perfect for any occasion.
Directions
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar. Add the cold, diced butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 2
Add cold water gradually and mix until the dough comes together. Divide the dough in half, shape into discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Roll out one disc of dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Press the dough into the dish.
Step 4
In another bowl, combine the sliced apples, blackberries, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Mix until the fruit is well coated.
Step 5
Pour the fruit mixture into the pie crust. Roll out the second disc of dough and place it over the fruit. Trim and crimp the edges to seal.
Step 6
Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Step 7
Let the pie cool on a wire rack before serving.
