Ingredients

  • 240 g all-purpose flour
  • 4 apples
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 115 g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 60 ml milk
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 200 g sugar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3
Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
In a small bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk.
Step 5
Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until combined.
Step 6
Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 7
Layer the apple slices over the crust and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Step 8
Crumble the remaining dough over the apple layer.
Step 9
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Step 10
Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
