Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 kg pork loin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 kg sauerkraut

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
Step 2
In a large ovenproof pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Step 3
Season the pork loin with salt and pepper, then brown it on all sides in the pot.
Step 4
Remove the pork and set aside. In the same pot, add sliced onion and apple, and cook until softened.
Step 5
Stir in the sauerkraut, brown sugar, and caraway seeds.
Step 6
Place the pork loin on top of the sauerkraut mixture.
Step 7
Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Cook for 90 minutes, or until the pork is tender.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing the pork.
Step 9
Serve the pork slices with the sauerkraut mixture on the side.
