Buchi is a popular Filipino snack made from glutinous rice flour filled with sweet mung bean paste, then coated with sesame seeds and deep-fried until golden and crispy.
Directions
Step 1
Soak the mung beans in water for at least 2 hours or until they swell.
Step 2
Cook the mung beans in boiling water until soft, then mash them into a paste.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water until it forms a dough.
Step 4
Divide the dough into small portions and flatten each portion in your palm.
Step 5
Place a spoonful of mung bean paste in the center of each flattened dough and shape them into balls.
Step 6
Roll each ball in sesame seeds until fully coated.
Step 7
Heat oil in a pot over medium heat and fry the buchi until golden brown and crispy.
Step 8
Drain the fried buchi on paper towels to remove excess oil.
