  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 230 g butter
  • 60 g cornmeal
  • 1 egg
  • 120 g flour
  • 120 ml milk
  • 1500 ml oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Cut the butter into small cubes and freeze until solid.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3
In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
Step 4
Dip the frozen butter cubes into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal.
Step 5
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 190°C (375°F).
Step 6
Fry the coated butter cubes until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 7
Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
