Ingredients

4 Servings
  • 240 ml beef broth
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 60 ml milk
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Step 2
Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
Step 3
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
Step 4
Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
In the same skillet, add flour and stir to combine with the remaining oil and drippings. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 6
Gradually add beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Step 7
Add Worcestershire sauce and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 8
Return the patties to the skillet and spoon some gravy over each one. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the patties to soak up some of the gravy.
Step 9
Serve the chopped steaks hot with the remaining gravy spooned over the top.
