  • 5 g baking powder
  • 120 ml beer
  • 450 g cheese curds
  • 1 egg
  • 120 g flour
  • 5 g garlic powder
  • 180 ml milk
  • oil
  • 5 g salt

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
Step 2
In another bowl, beat the egg and then whisk in the milk and beer until well combined.
Step 3
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until the batter is smooth.
Step 4
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 180°C.
Step 5
Dip the cheese curds in the batter, making sure they are well coated.
Step 6
Carefully drop the battered cheese curds into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the fried cheese curds with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
