Step 1
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.

Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.
