Directions
Step 1
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, and cook in the skillet until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
Step 3
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Stir in the garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Step 5
Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes.
Step 6
Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Step 7
Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 8
Return the shrimp to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes. Stir in the parsley and basil.
Step 9
Serve the shrimp and sauce over the cooked pasta.
