Ingredients

  • 7 g active dry yeast
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 115 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 5 g salt
  • 50 g sugar
  • 240 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Step 2
Add sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg to the yeast mixture and mix well.
Step 3
Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Step 4
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 7-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 6
Punch down the dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and shape it into a crescent roll.
Step 7
Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Step 8
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 9
Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 10
Remove from the oven and brush with additional melted butter if desired. Serve warm.
