Ingredients

  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 1.5 kg pork ribs
  • 120 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 240 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onion is tender and translucent.
Step 3
Place the pork ribs into the pot and brown on all sides.
Step 4
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the ribs.
Step 5
Bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer the ribs for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the sauce has thickened.
Step 6
Serve the ribs hot, with the sauce poured over them.
