A classic California Roll featuring crab meat, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in seasoned rice and nori. Perfect for sushi lovers!

  • 1 avocado
  • 200 g crab meat
  • 1 cucumber
  • 5 nori sheets
  • 30 ml rice vinegar
  • 5 g salt
  • 15 g sesame seeds
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 15 g sugar
  • 240 g sushi rice

Directions

Step 1
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Step 2
Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
Step 3
Mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved. Pour over the cooked rice and mix well. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
Step 4
Lay a bamboo sushi mat on a flat surface and place a sheet of nori on top.
Step 5
Spread a thin layer of seasoned sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 2 cm border at the top edge.
Step 6
Sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the rice.
Step 7
Turn the nori over so that the rice is facing down on the bamboo mat.
Step 8
Place crab meat, cucumber, and avocado slices along the bottom edge of the nori.
Step 9
Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the nori and rice over the filling, applying gentle pressure to form a tight roll.
Step 10
Slice the roll into 6 to 8 pieces with a sharp knife. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Step 11
Serve the California rolls with soy sauce for dipping.
