Baked Siopao, also known as Filipino Meat Bun, is a savory pastry filled with a delicious meat mixture. Perfect for snacks or meals, these buns are baked to golden perfection.

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and instant yeast.

In a separate bowl, mix milk, water, and vegetable oil. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients while mixing until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant. Add ground pork and cook until browned. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Flatten each portion and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. Add a quarter of a hard-boiled egg on top of the meat. Gather the edges of the dough and seal the bun.

Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rest for another 15 minutes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
