Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 400 grams diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 170 grams tomato paste
  • 800 grams tomato sauce
  • 240 milliliters water

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
Step 3
Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
Step 4
Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Step 5
Add the water and stir to combine.
Step 6
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 7
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving over cooked spaghetti.
