Ingredients

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 100 g cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 150 g rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 g tomato sauce

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Step 4
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Step 5
Stir in the cooked rice and tomato sauce. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 6
Stuff the bell peppers with the beef and rice mixture. Place them in a baking dish.
Step 7
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tops of the stuffed peppers.
Step 9
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 10
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
