Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 2 rib-eye steak
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1
Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove steaks from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 4
Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and capers. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Return steaks to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Reduce heat to low and simmer until steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 6
Sprinkle fresh basil over the top before serving.
