Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 400 ml dashi stock
  • 100 g green beans
  • 60 ml mirin
  • 1 onion
  • 4 potatoes
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 300 g thinly sliced beef
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Peel and cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Peel and slice the onion into wedges.
Step 3
Peel and cut the carrot into thin rounds.
Step 4
Trim and cut the green beans into 2-inch pieces.
Step 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 6
Add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
Step 7
Add the onions, potatoes, and carrots to the pot and mix well.
Step 8
Pour in the dashi stock, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar.
Step 9
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

Add the green beans and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
