Ingredients

  • 30 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 grams black pepper
  • 120 grams bread crumbs
  • 60 grams butter
  • 450 grams elbow macaroni
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 720 ml milk
  • 2 grams paprika
  • 60 grams Parmesan cheese
  • 5 grams salt
  • 450 grams smoked Gouda cheese

Directions

Step 1
Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Step 3
Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes to form a roux.

Gradually add the milk and heavy cream to the roux, whisking constantly until smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the smoked Gouda cheese until melted and combined.

Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish.
