Ingredients

  • 120 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 120 g cornmeal
  • 1 egg
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 240 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Step 2
In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
Step 3
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
Step 4
Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs and dip each one into the batter, covering completely.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 175°C (350°F).
Step 6
Fry the corn dogs until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 7
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
