Tonkatsu is a popular Japanese dish consisting of breaded, deep-fried pork cutlets. It is typically served with shredded cabbage and a tangy tonkatsu sauce.
Directions
Step 1
Season the pork loin chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off any excess.
Step 3
Beat the eggs in a shallow dish and dip each floured pork chop into the eggs, coating them completely.
Step 4
Coat the pork chops with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the meat.
Step 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 175°C.
Step 6
Fry the breaded pork chops in the hot oil for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 7
Remove the pork chops from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Step 8
Slice the tonkatsu into strips and serve with shredded cabbage and tonkatsu sauce.
