  • 7 grams active dry yeast
  • 60 ml honey
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 10 grams salt
  • 480 ml warm water
  • 600 grams whole wheat flour

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until the mixture is frothy.
Step 2
Add the olive oil, whole wheat flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
Step 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Step 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
Step 5
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
Step 6
Cover the loaf pan with a damp cloth and let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
Step 7
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 8
Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Step 9
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
