  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 240 ml milk
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 500 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Peel and slice the onions into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3
Dip the onion rings into the dry mixture until they are all coated; set aside.
Step 4
Whisk the egg and milk into the flour mixture using a fork.
Step 5
Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or large deep skillet to 185°C (365°F).
Step 6
Dip the flour-coated onion rings into the batter to coat, then place them one at a time into the hot oil.
Step 7
Fry the rings for about 2-3 minutes each, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
