Ingredients

  • 200 g barley
  • 900 g beef brisket
  • 1.5 L beef broth
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 carrots
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 200 g kidney beans
  • 2 onions
  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 500 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 100°C (212°F).
Step 2
In a large oven-safe pot, layer the beef brisket, potatoes, onions, and carrots.
Step 3
Add the soaked and drained kidney beans and barley.
Step 4
Sprinkle minced garlic, salt, and black pepper over the ingredients.
Step 5
Pour in the beef broth and water, ensuring all ingredients are well-covered.
Step 6
Bring the mixture to a boil on the stovetop.
Step 7
Once boiling, cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.
Step 8
Cook for 12-18 hours, checking occasionally to ensure there is enough liquid. Add more water if necessary.
Step 9
Serve hot, directly from the pot.
