Ingredients

  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 6 green apples
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 355 ml lemon-lime soda
  • 125 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
Peel and core the apples, then cut each apple into 8 slices.
Step 3
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
Step 4
Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll dough triangle and place in a baking dish.
Step 5
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
Step 6
Pour the butter mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
Step 7
Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the baking dish, not over the dumplings.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
