Ingredients

  • 450 g bow tie pasta
  • 400 g canned diced tomatoes
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 10 g fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 450 g Italian sausage
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 120 g parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Cook the bow tie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Step 3
Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for another minute, stirring frequently.
Step 4
Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juice. Simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Stir in the heavy cream and let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
