Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 500 g Italian sausage
  • 2 cups kale
  • 1 onion
  • 4 russet potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.
Step 2
In the same pot, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Step 3
Add the diced potatoes to the pot along with the chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
Step 4
Return the cooked sausage to the pot. Add the chopped kale and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in the heavy cream and season with crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until heated through.
