Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the tea cakes to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
