Ingredients

  • 480 g all-purpose flour
  • 5 g anise seed
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 30 ml brandy
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 5 g ground cinnamon
  • 230 g lard
  • 2 g salt

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream the lard and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3
Beat in the egg and anise seed.
Step 4
Gradually add the flour mixture to the lard mixture, mixing until combined.
Step 5
Stir in the brandy.
Step 6
Divide the dough in half, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.

Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased baking sheets.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
