  • 6 apples
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 375 g flour
  • 120 ml orange juice
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 400 g sugar
  • 100 g sugar (for apples)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 240 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 cups sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Make a well in the center and add the oil, orange juice, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, mix the sliced apples with 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon.
Step 5
Pour a third of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer half of the apple mixture on top. Repeat with another third of the batter and the remaining apples, then top with the remaining batter.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
