Krumkake is a traditional Norwegian waffle cookie made of flour, butter, eggs, sugar, and cream. These delicate, crispy cookies are often shaped into cones and enjoyed during festive occasions.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the krumkake iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
Step 3
Gradually add the flour, mixing until well combined.
Step 4
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.
Step 5
Drop a tablespoon of batter onto the center of the preheated krumkake iron. Close the iron and cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 6
Quickly remove the krumkake and shape it around a cone form or simply roll it into a cylinder shape. Allow to cool and harden.
Step 7
Repeat with the remaining batter. Store cooled krumkake in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
