Ingredients

  • 9 g active dry yeast
  • 480 g bread flour
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 120 ml lukewarm water
  • 10 g salt
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 20 g white sugar

Directions

Step 1
In a small bowl, combine lukewarm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir until dissolved and let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, mix together the bread flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, lukewarm milk, and vegetable oil. Stir until a dough forms.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal parts. Shape each part into a loaf and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cover the loaves with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Bake the loaves in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
