Ingredients

  • 7 grams active dry yeast
  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 60 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • 120 ml milk
  • 10 grams salt
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 240 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add the flour, salt, butter, and egg to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cover the buns with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until they are golden brown.
