Ingredients

  • 5 g cumin
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 50 g green olives
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 500 ml oil
  • 1 onion
  • 3 g pepper
  • 5 potatoes
  • 30 g raisins
  • 5 g salt
  • 30 g tomato paste

Directions

Step 1
Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
Step 2
Drain and mash the potatoes. Set aside to cool.
Step 3
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Stir in the tomato paste, green olives, raisins, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Step 5
Take a handful of mashed potatoes and flatten it in your hand. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center, and then carefully fold the potatoes around the filling to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and filling.
Step 6
Roll each potato ball in the flour, then dip in the beaten eggs.
Step 7
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 180°C. Fry the potato balls in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per batch.
Step 8
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
