A traditional Wisconsin recipe for making delicious bratwurst, perfect for grilling or simmering in beer.

Step 1
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until soft and translucent.

Add minced garlic to the pot and cook for another minute.

Pour in the beer and water, then add salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Add bratwurst sausages to the pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

Remove bratwursts from the pot and place them on the preheated grill. Grill for 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and crisp.
