Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 duck breasts
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 2 green onions
  • 60 ml honey
  • 15 ml rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 15 ml sesame oil
  • 60 ml soy sauce

Directions

Step 1
In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Mix well to create the marinade.
Step 2
Place the duck breasts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
Step 4
Remove the duck from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the duck breasts, skin side down, for about 5 minutes until the skin is crispy.

Turn the duck breasts over and sear the other side for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Transfer the duck breasts to a baking dish and cook in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) for medium-rare.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Step 9
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.
