Directions
Step 1
Place the chopped pears in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pot.

Stir the mixture well and bring it to a boil.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer until the pears are very soft, about 45 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
Step 6
Continue to cook the puree on low heat until it thickens to a buttery consistency, about 30 minutes.

Pour the hot pear butter into sterilized jars and seal immediately.
Step 8
Let the jars cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
